City of London Churches




All Hallows-by-the-Tower is believed to be the oldest Christian church in the City of London, dating from 675 AD.

The present building dates from 1650, it sustained some damage during The Great Fire and Samuel Pepys wrote his diary while observing the fire from the church.

The church was damaged during The Second World War and has since been restored.
