City of London Churches

Saint mary Aldermanbury dates from 1181. It was destroyed during The Great Fire and rebuilt by Christopher Wren.

The church was gutted during The Blitz of 1940 leaving just the walls.

In 1966 the remains were transported to Fulton. Missouri and rebuilt as a memorial to Winston Churchil in Westminster College where Churchil had made his 'Iron Curtain' speech in 1946.

The church 'foot print' remains as a garden in The City today.
